Massive Land Use Change Would Allow a New City to Arise in Rural Eastern Sarasota Country

By a unanimous vote, Sarasota County Commissioners voted to rezone 4,120 acres in the northeast corner of Sarasota County for a new planned community. The project will also be reviewed by the state’s Department of Economic Development.
